The Hair Historian

The Hair Historian began life as an Instagram account combining my main interests of hair, art, and history. It has since become a bigger, broader platform for me to share my knowledge of – and passion for – the culture of aesthetics in print, online, for brands, and through events and lectures.

I’ve researched, written and contributed to features for titles including Time, Vogue, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Politico, ELLE, Dazed, AnOther, The Cut, Refinery 29, and The Cut.

I’ve also worked with galleries and institutions to help them stay ahead of cultural conversations around beauty, including the Courtauld Institute, Art UK, Babson College in Wellesley, the BBC and BBC Bitesize education, Five News and Australia's Channel7.

I’m passionate about giving hair the recognition it deserves – academically, culturally and socially – and exploring the bigger picture of why we do what we do, and the role aesthetics plays in that.
